Day Guest Guidelines

Sat Manav Yoga Ashram is first and foremost a place of practice. Day guests are asked to help preserve its quiet, attentive atmosphere.

Before arriving

Please come fully fragrance-free. Do not wear perfume, cologne, essential oils, scented sprays, or fragranced personal-care products. Clothing should be washed with unscented laundry products.

A visit to the Ashram always involves walking outdoors. Check the seven-day weather forecast.

While at the Ashram

  • Speak softly and observe all designated quiet and silent areas. Silence does not prevent a natural greeting or necessary question.

  • Remove shoes immediately upon entering any Ashram building and place them in the designated area.

  • Residential buildings are private and should be entered only when invited. Areas reserved for private retreat are not open to guests.

  • Do not bring food or drink into temples or designated practice spaces.

  • In temples and practice spaces, do not point the feet or sit with your back toward altars, sacred objects, or teachers.

  • Alcohol, cannabis, recreational drugs, nicotine products—including vaping—and caffeinated beverages are not brought to or used at the Ashram.

  • Dress simply, modestly, and comfortably for practice, outdoor activity, and shared community spaces.

You are not expected to remember every detail. Any guidance specific to your visit will be reviewed when you arrive.
