Who Are the Gurus of Sat Manav?

← Back to Guru & Lineage

Śrī Bhagavān VaShi Baba and Śrī Mīrābāī Īśvarī—Baba and Amma—are the Gurus of Sat Manav.

Lifelong practitioners, they are wholly dedicated to the realization and transmission of Yoga’s highest aims. Through decades of unwavering practice and study, they have mastered this ancient science, not as an intellectual pursuit, but as a lived reality, and have made it their life’s work to awaken this wisdom within human consciousness.

They devote nearly every waking hour to formal practice—immersed in the most advanced and subtle dimensions of Yoga, perfecting the higher states beyond enlightenment—so that these rare and sacred teachings are not lost, and so those who are ready may follow them to ultimate purpose and fulfillment.

Śrī Bhagavān VaShi Baba

The Relentless Pursuit of Truth

In India, Baba received direct transmission from the masters he sought out.

Though these teachings spanned the vast expanse of Yogic tradition, their message was singular: over and over again, Baba was told that it was his dharma to disseminate the essential teachings of Yoga, preserving them in their authentic and unadulterated form.

Sat Manav Yoga Ashram was the result.

Yet the work was far from complete. For more than a decade after founding the Ashram, Baba continued his travels to India and other holy sites to emanate and extend this dharma. He delved into the most subtle aspects of practice, accessing deeper dimensions of the tradition, ensuring that the world-changing force of Yoga was not only protected but realized.

After this monumental undertaking, he ceased his travels and returned fully to the Ashram, not simply to teach, but to perfect and emanate. Now, he resides in full retreat, devoting himself entirely to the full manifestation of this wisdom—a force so powerful it is felt by all who visit the Ashram.

The Power of a Realized Yogini

Nearly every ancient Yogic scripture is recorded as a dialogue between the realized Yogi and his consort, the living dynamic where knowledge is revealed, nurtured, and preserved for the world. This is not a human invention but nature’s own design for how life expands. Sat Manav Yoga Ashram stands firmly in this lineage, upheld through the living presence of Baba and Amma.

Amma, with her unwavering dedication, boundless compassion, and innate realization, is a force of equal power to Baba. She is the Mother of the Ashram and the embodiment of the rare, transformative energy of a realized Yogini. From the very beginning, her devotion to Baba and the path of Yoga set her apart as a driving presence in the Ashram’s formation. As one of its earliest disciples, she advanced with astonishing speed, attaining enlightenment of consciousness in a matter of months—an effort that for most takes years, if not lifetimes.

Amma’s greatness lies in her profound realization and in her mastery of living Yoga within all conditions. She is the Guru Mother of Sat Manav, a constant wellspring of love and guidance within the Gurukula. While Baba stands as the authoritative body of the teachings, Amma is the living warmth and presence that nurtures
